digital storytelling at its best
→One of the goals we have here at • the warden ettinger group •, is to help companies of all sizes and shapes create interesting, relevant and visually exciting online newsrooms. All to often, companies tend to compile all of their press booty on one page, dully presented as a list of links. The reason that WE seek out extra hours in the day to keep pace with technology, is because we understand the value of helping ourselves and our clients take control of the press they’ve fought so hard to earn, while also creating their own newsworthy content. After “flipping through” this morning’s edition of The Morning Dew, we’re even more excited about the new media journalism opportunities ahead. And, we wholeheartedly agree with Steve Momorella, that Vail Resorts online newsroom is pretty spectacular. It is safe to assume that time, money and technology converged for this large ski resort at much faster pace than would be the case at your, or our, company, but that should not be a deterrent. Think big, but start small is what we always tell ourselves. (If you prefer, just chant, “Rome wasn’t built in a day” over and over…) It is not easy keeping up with or finding a budget for the many social media tools that exist for digital storytelling, but even if make a small effort via YouTube, Flickr, Storify, Instagram, PitchEngine, Vimeo, Tweegram, paper.li, Pinterest… the list will probably be longer next week … you can make an impact on how YOUR company’s story is told. And, if we play our cards right, perhaps the warden ettinger group can help. Stay tuned, because we honing our skills and going to be putting out some online newsroom examples for your perusal. Plus, we’ve got a nifty contest brewing that just might “afford” you one.
